Born in a garage. Built to last. Now an award winner.
ONTAP ROAM™ has won a 2026 Good Design Award in Product Design, Sport and Lifestyle.
We’re pretty happy about it. Harrison, our founder, included. He’s just more comfortable working on a product than having his photo taken with one.
It started with sand. Quite a lot of sand.
Harrison loves to camp, surf and get outdoors. He regularly brings half the beach home in his car. He wanted a simple way to rinse off after a surf and get water flowing at camp. He tried the gear available. It didn’t do what he needed.
So he went to the garage.
After creating the much loved ONTAP Original. Harrison spent another two years of designing, building and refining to push the boundaries further & help explorers go further too. The goal was straightforward: make a portable water system that could handle outdoor life and was easy to use when you actually needed it. Anywhere that you 'roam'.
Eventually, the ONTAP ROAM™ was born.
Water, on tap, anywhere.
Practical problems. Thoughtful design.
Good gear earns its place in the car.
ROAM gives you battery-powered, pressurised water for showers, dishes and rinsing salty or muddy gear. No vehicle connection, permanent plumbing or manual pumping required.
Its transferable pump housing moves between interchangeable 16L tanks. Add extra tanks when you need more water, or take a single tank for a quick trip. Standard jerry can dimensions help it fit into your existing setup.
Those decisions shaped the product: how it packs, how it carries and how easily you can get water flowing.
Designed in Australia by ONTAP Products and Whistle Design Group, ROAM has now earned a Good Design Award. It’s a proud milestone for the people behind it—and a good reason to pause before getting back to the next thing.
Already own a ROAM? Thank You!
You might know it as the shower after a long day outside. The way you wash up at camp. Or the thing that stops quite so much beach making it into the car.
That’s where the design gets put to work. To everyone who has taken ONTAP ROAM™ along for the ride: thanks. This is a moment we’re proud to share with you.
And Harrison? He’s happy. We even snuck a photo...and got a smile. :)
